Rouse Hill, Riverstone and Marayong
The Community Hub Project aims to establish and maintain a series of community hubs to provide opportunities for families to develop their own support networks provide services to families and children in the area and link key child and family service providers through outreach. The Hubs will assist parents with social networks, parenting skills, information and referrals to local services. The community hub model enables innovative and flexible approaches to family support and community development.
The Community Hubs will operate a “one-stop shop” model and/or activities from a variety of locations for families with children under eight years of age.
Programs offer eligible families:
- Group and informal activities to assist parents to improve their parenting skills and to develop their own support networks
- Information about parenting and child development
- Links to wider community support networks
- Referral to child and family services provided by visiting or co-located family support services
Community Hubs will work with a range of local organisations including the local primary schools and early childhood services, and deliver programs/activities in partnership where appropriate.
Client group
Priority will be given to families who are socially isolated or economically disadvantaged. This may include, though is not limited to:
- Young and / or sole parents
- Families who are socially isolated
- Families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Families with additional support needs
