Ashfield Youth Outreach
The Ashfield Youth Outreach provides information, advocacy, referral, and counselling to young people who may be at risk of homelessness or in need of advocacy and support. The program was set up with the awareness that many youth were not aware of the services that could support them.
Youth Outreach is an early intervention program connecting youth with existing services. This program is supported and works in partnership with Ashfield and Burwood Council. Youth workers meet with youth on the streets in and around Ashfield and Summer Hill, run drop-in facilities at Ashfield Town Hall and in Burwood Park. They visit three high schools weekly in the local area. Youth Outreach also runs 8 weeks of school holiday program for Ashfield Council each year. Youth Outreach can assist with issues such as domestic violence, unstable accommodation, homelessness, pregnancy, Juvenile Justice, unemployment, depression, addictions, mental health, educational problems, social isolation and much more.
