Calendar of events
- Each day an average of 7 people in Australia complete suicide.
- Each day, an average of 210 people in Australia attempt suicide.
The majority of people with thoughts of suicide do not want to die! They simply want to escape their emotional pain. Most people with thoughts of suicide send out warning signals of their intentions.
Attending a one-day suicide prevention workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to:
- Understand the person with thoughts of suicide
- Identify the warning signs using the S.A.L.T strategy
- Learn intervention skills using the H.E.A.D.S strategy
- Find out more about local resources.
If we can learn to identify the people in need, we can engage them in a process which could save their life!
