Anxiety management program
About the program
Anxiety is a normal human emotion that most people experience at different times in their lives. Anxiety can become a disorder when the level of fear becomes excessive or unreasonable, and the anxiety avoidance or distress interferes with social, occupational or daily functioning.
Symptoms include:
- Intense fear or discomfort which may include panic attacks
- Excessive anxiety or distress in feared situations
- Physical symptoms including palpitations, shortness of breath and/or shakiness
- Changes in behaviour due to fears which may include avoidance
- Excessive worry
- Fear of losing control.
The anxiety management program aims to provide a supportive environment to educate participants to develop coping skills to manage distress and anxiety.
