This Sunday as we continue on our Series on Women and Faith, we meet Pat Rich, Christian author, foster carer and grandmother. Amidst a full life, with eight children of her own, Pat took on the responsibility of caring for a cotton wool baby, Lou. Lou in turn, gave the family the wonderful miracle of love. |

Rise & Shine continues on the series of Faith and Women. Keith Garner talks to Sarah McMahon, a psychologist with the Eating Disorders Foundation. Once being a survivor of the illness herself, Sarah articulates the dangerous and destructive nature of eating disorders and gives us much needed insight into how recovery is possible, with faith in God to guide and support you. Wesley Mission helps teenagers to overcome their hurdles by providing tremendous support. Through our Wesley Mission Youth Support Services, we meet with Bank, a talented young artist who is guided through his journey with care and love from a Wesley Mission counsellor. |

As we explore the coming together of faith and women on Rise & Shine, we meet with a powerful example in Dr Jennifer Dawson, psychologist and CEO of TraumAid International whose life took a drastic turn as she began working with the people of the Republic of Congo whose experiences of civil war had left behind a shattered and traumatised population. |

We welcome one of our favourite singers Erica Crocker singing ‘He Ain’t Heavy’, a fitting song as we reflect on what we can do for those in need around us. |

Wesley Mission’s Newcastle Youth Services gives us a glimpse of the importance of working with young people, who are devoid of stability and support. Our work there has been to engage, encourage and guide these teenagers to a whole new road ahead. |

Rise & Shine’s series on faith and women this week looks at this dark issue with Keith as he talks to Helen Bardell, who has recently written a book called “Cutting Edge- Overcoming Self Harm”. Helen speaks with great clarity on how God has become not only her Lord but her Healer. |

Matt Lucas has written a song that talks of the freedom that we receive from pain and fear when we walk with our God. It is titled ‘Mercy Lights My Way’. |

One of the programs that we run through Wesley Mission is a special program for women who have experienced abuse. The Door of Hope program supports and opens the door to change in their lives, giving them hope of a stronger and happier future. |
