A New Beginning for James

When you hear the phrase, ‘angry young man’, who do you think of?

For his friends and family, this described James, once a destructive and broken young man.

Now James is a volunteer in Thailand, sharing his Christian faith with university students and helping in a clinic providing medical services to the country’s poor.

So what was behind this transformation?

In the past James was in trouble with the law and struggling at University. To make things worse, relationships with his family and girlfriend had fallen apart.

James had so many problems that he didn’t know where to start, but a friend invited him along to a Wesley Mission youth group, called Dig JC.

At first James wanted to leave, but didn’t, realising that he desperately needed the community and love the group offered.

He needed a new beginning.

Over the next few months our group leaders helped James through some hard times. They also shared with him about Jesus and his mighty power and grace.

James thought his life was falling apart but instead he found a supportive and trustworthy community. With the support of his friends and leaders at Dig JC, James began to heal.

Soon after, James made the bold decision to turn his life over to God. He is relishing this new beginning and is full of gratitude to God for saving him.

“Jesus gave me hope. I put my trust in Him knowing that, whatever I go through, He will be with me and He is in control.”
