Message from the Media Manager

One of the privileges of working in Christian Media is that you get to enter into the people’s lives as they share their highs and lows of their spiritual journey. I discovered recently a high with one of Wesley Mission’s older supporters Ivan Reichelt. Ivan and I don’t think he’d mind me sharing, celebrated his 90th birthday a year ago, so as you can imagine he had much to say about life, Wesley Mission and the love of God. What stood out during the three hour interview was not the highs and lows of life, the joys of family, nor the work of Wesley Mission, but rather his conversion. As Ivan shared his story he was brought to the point of tears, joyous tears, as he shared when the gospel actually made sense.
As I hope you can tell from my photo, I am a younger man than Ivan, but sometimes when I reflect on my own conversion it can appear distant and stale. It is refreshing to hear other Christian’s testimonials as it can help us reengage with my own.
