Our People - The Media Team
Michael Bennett – Media Manager
Michael has worked in television for over 15 years. His career began at Anglican Television, Sydney. There he started working on the Channel 7 show Sing Me A Rainbow with his mentor Clifford Warne. While at Anglican Television, Michael then started to create his own documentaries and television series such as: an international fishing television series called The Bishop, the Chef and the Fisherman; a health and life style television series called Life – Body, Mind and Spirit; a social documentary on the stolen generation called A Dark History; historical documentary on Christian Ministry at Gallipoli called The Boys’ Best Friend; and theological documentary called Land of the Kings.
After Anglican Media, Michael then worked on the Australian’s At War archive. He travelled all over NSW interviewing veterans from World War 2, Korea, Vietnam and Australia’s various peace-keeping operations.
Currently Michael is the Media Manager and Executive Producer of Wesley Mission’s television programs, documentaries, radio work and corporate videos. He has created and overseen the production process for the Flying Documentary series – Flying Through the Gospels and Flying Through the Seven Churches of Revelation, as well as our social documentary Santa’s Forgotten People and weekly television program Rise & Shine among other programs.
Christine Johnson – Production Coordinator
Christine Johnson has been involved in the Christian media industry for the past 30 years. She worked for the Rex Humbard television ministries, an American Christian TV program that aired every Sunday 9am on the National Nine Network. As Wesley Mission’s program in the 1980’s gained recognition it took over Rex Humbard’s time slot.
In 1984 she joined the Media Department of Wesley Mission as Production Assistant for their television and radio programs Turn Round Australia and Sunday Night Live.
Her current role is Production Co-ordinator for the new television program, Rise & Shine. She also provides administrative support for the Media team.
Christine loves working for Wesley Mission and feels privileged to be part of a team who are keen to see the message of Gospel presented through the television programs.
Dalanglin Dkhar – Corporate Video & Documentary Producer
After finishing a Master's Degree in Media Arts and Production at UTS, Dalanglin was humbled when her final year project The Narrow Path - a documentary about a north-east Indian matriarch who became the first Christian in her family - did well on the international film festival circuit, culminating in the Runner Up Best Film and Best Documentary awards at the San Antonio Christian Film Festival in 2005.
After working in several productions with social and cultural issues, Dalanglin was overjoyed to join Wesley Mission in 2007 as a Producer in the Media Department. She feels privileged to be able to help tell the stories of Wesley Mission clients who have overcome all odds, and is constantly inspired by the tireless workers at the different centres she visits. Santa's Forgotten People - the Wesley Mission Christmas documentary Dalanglin produced for Channel Seven last year – was screened to over 171,000 people.
And as the stories pour on, the journey continues…
