About Wesley Mission Television
About us
Wesley Mission’s Media department is made of four people - the Media Manager, a producer, a senior editor and a production coordinator. We are also supported by several freelance producers, editors and volunteers who either help with the production process or care for viewers responses.
The Media department creates television programming primarily for Channel 9, the Australian Christian Channel and Christian Cable as well as Internet programming, corporate videos and radio inserts.
Our programming includes: our weekly television series Wesley Impact! and Praise, Prayer & Preaching; social documentaries like Santa’s Forgotten People, ‘live’ programming like The Easter Sunrise Service and corporate videos.
Our mission
Our mission is basically to create compelling and entertaining programs. We do this by knowing everything we can about the subject and then thinking through what is the best way of presenting the information to our audience so that they will be compelled to act, to give, to seek, to change, to help.
There are two types of programs that we create:
The first type of program is “Christian” productions. In this type of production God is in the subject and Wesley Mission is in the subtext. The television series or documentary is about God, His glory, majesty and love. Our goal is to give to our viewer a ‘Big Picture’ by reflecting on what the Bible says about Him. The types of programs that reflect this view are: Wesley Impact!; Praise, Prayer & Preaching; Easter Sunrise Service; Flying Through series; and The Three Fathers of Christmas.
The second type of program is productions about Wesley Mission – Wesley Mission is in the subject and God is in the subtext. In these productions Wesley Mission’s work is featured – homelessness, aged care disability services etc. The goal of these types of programs is to reflect the great work of Wesley Mission’s staff and to highlight how we have been able to help rebuild people’s lives.
