Marty Beckett – “Christ Mission Possible.”
This week on Wesley Impact!, we enter into our second week of Advent – the celebration in the lead up to Christmas.
Christmas is a time to reflect and extend ‘Goodwill to All Men.’ Marty Beckett is one such man extending the love of Jesus Christ, 365 days a year.
Marty juggled working as a volunteer pastor and an Automotive Fleet Salesperson before feeling led to quit his well-paid job in the corporate world and put everything on the line to serve God.
What followed was a succession of ‘God Incidences.’ His first, a call to help a grandmother who was forced to sleep out in a local park with two grandchildren. His compassion for them and many that followed led to partnerships with Government agencies and community organisations that have all culminated to make what Christ Mission Possible is today.
Christ Mission Possible began with just 15 years ago with 10 volunteers. Today CMP consists of more than 150 volunteers who serve 7,000 people every week. CMP also houses 700 people in crisis accommodation and 300 people in permanent housing every year.
Today CMP works in four key areas: Food Solutions, Housing Solutions, Financial Counselling and Missions. Marty shares with Keith about the dream to expand the service Nationally. Log on to www.cmp.org.au for further information.

Rev Nigel Rogers
This week on Wesley Impact!, we enter into our first week of Advent – the celebration in the lead up to Christmas.
Today we meet Rev Nigel Rogers, Senior Minister at Pittwater Uniting Church in Sydney.
After leaving his former world behind, Nigel worked his way up from working with youth in the church to senior minister.
Nigel is passionate about Jesus, his family, sport and community. So much so his church oversees ministries from pre-schoolers to aged care as well as a sports centre!
Nigel shares his view on the future of the church and his passion to equip the next generation in the Uniting Church and of his role in the church to build people up.
Nigel shares with Keith about a special ministry, the New Life Sport & Fitness Centre.
Wesley Mission Story
Just like Nigel’s work at his church in Sydney, Wesley Mission’s ministry and mission team provide pastoral care through their chaplains. A chaplain’s role is one founded on expressing love through action within our community.
Today we look at a day in the life of a Wesley Mission Chaplain.
