The transforming power of Christ - Father’s Day special. Many may not know that the idea for creating a day for children to honour their fathers began in Spokane, Washington. A woman by the name of Sonora Smart Dodd thought of the idea for Father’s Day while listening to a Mother’s Day sermon in 1909. Having been raised by her father, after her mother died, Sonora wanted her father to know how special he was to her. In this espisode of Wesley Impact! we meet Warwick Marsh, who began Dads4Kids Fatherhood Foundation almost 20 years ago. Warwick is a father of five and his passion is to equip, strengthen and encourage dads to be the best they can be. For further information on seminars and his work, Log onto the website: http://www.fatherhood.org.au/ |

Wesley LifeForce Memorial Service It’s that time of year when we reflect on the issue of suicide through our LifeForce program and our Memorial Service which is designed to help families reconnect, remember and honour those who have died. In this week’s Wesley Impact! episode we meet a born and bred Queenslander who has a passion to see women reach their full potential in life and purpose through “She” Conferences in the top end. Now a pastor’s wife and mother of two, Sue speaks candidly about her own personal story of attempted suicide and how God helped turn her life around. |
Wesley LifeForce Memorial DayTwists and turns in life can come in many forms. Wesley LifeForce is just one way we train people to help those who are dealing with tough issues and to offer support to find another way. We also hold an annual memorial service at the Sydney Opera House to help reduce the stigma of suicide and to remember those loved ones who have died. |
