'For the first time in my life, at the age of 47, I feel like I’m really living.'
"Today, his passion is to help others, especially the homeless"
Please help someone like Todd. Armed police surrounded his home. He was holding his 18-month-old son hostage, they feared. Six hours the police siege lasted.
In his drugged and schizophrenic mind, monsters were coming to harm his baby. He was delusional and he was violent. It was the point worst point of Todd’s life.
Todd ended up in jail for 15 months and was banned from seeing his son. On his release, he spent the next ten years on the streets.
Wesley Mission’s Edward Eagar Lodge was there to help him: with food, a bed and a lot of tough love.
Todd knew he had to change. Drawing on his new faith in God, he took on the harrowing task of ridding himself of drugs and alcohol, and turning away from the destructive ways he had known for so many years.
For three years now he has been clean – no drugs, no alcohol. His schizophrenia is under control. He is a different man.
No longer seeking the help of Edward Eagar Lodge, these days Todd is their most responsible, trustworthy and reliable volunteer. He has secure, safe accommodation and money in the bank.
Today, his passion to help others, especially the homeless, is infectious, as is his love of Jesus Christ. And he has a close, healthy relationship with his son.
Would you please join us to help someone like Todd to turn their life around today?
