Palm Sunday – 5 April

Each year, Wesley Mission takes the momentous events of Easter Week into the streets to share with the community the meaning and glorious promise of Jesus’ death and resurrection.

Jesus himself deliberately created the spectacle of his entry into Jerusalem in what would come to be known as Palm Sunday.

Easter Breakfast – 8 April

The light of Christ provides hope amidst the darkness of the current financial and moral crises, Rev Keith Garner told a gathering of more than 150 community and business leaders and supporters, at Wesley Mission’s Annual Easter Breakfast on 8 April.

Good Friday – 10 April

Way of the Cross Procession

Plain wooden cross with flowers covering upright beamJesus Christ’s walk to his crucifixion was re-enacted for hundreds of onlookers in Sydney’s CBD on Good Friday in front of one of the biggest crowds in years. The dramatic procession, part of Wesley Mission’s Easter Mission, was performed by Wesley Institute students in period costume.

Easter Sunday – 12 April


Sunrise Service

Marina Prior, Darlene Zschech and Daniel Kay brought the Opera House to lifePlain wooden cross with flowers blooming all over. with their voices at Wesley Mission’s Easter Sunrise Service on 12 April. The 6am service was televised nationally on Channel 7 and broadcast on seven Christian radio stations across the country. Wesley Mission CEO, Rev. Keith Garner, delivered a powerful sermon on the hope and new beginning that Jesus’ resurrection offers to all who choose to follow Jesus.
