Easter Luncheon

Easter Luncheon

He goes to the Cross despite his friends

Mrs Carol Garner, wife of the Rev Dr Keith V Garner, hosted the luncheon as a chance for people to enjoy community and reflect upon the message of Easter. Dr Garner spoke about the role of the over-confident and blundering disciple, Peter, in the Easter narrative.
Despite his promises to follow Jesus to the end, Peter ended up denying he knew Jesus.

“In this Holy Week we recognise the danger of over-confidence as we consider the words and actions of Peter in the courtyard,” he said.

Group Manager of Wesley Mission’s Family and Community Services, Nicole Schleicher, entertained and inspired the luncheon crowd with some beautiful songs which were appreciated with loud applause.
