Easter Mission 2013
... because every life matters
At Easter we are brought face-to-face with the real meaning of the Christian faith.
Jesus showed amazing compassion and care for all those he encountered. He spent his short ministry reaching out - and encouraging others to reach out - to the poor, the sick and the marginalised.
In the events of Holy Week, we saw that this love could last even through betrayal, suffering and death. These can be sobering reflections - but that death was not, and is not, the end. On Easter Sunday, we celebrated the resurrection. The risen Jesus of today offers the same care and healing to every broken and painful life as he did 2,000 years ago.
