Announcing the winners of the MyPlace_MyFace photography competition
You are invited to the Official Launch and Announcement of Competition Winners on Tuesday August 17 2010 at Pine Street Creative Arts Centre. The exhibition will continue until 29 August.
Following this, the exhibition will travel to Wesley Mission from September 16 - 30, where a charity art auction will be held as part of a fundraising event. Proceeds of sales from the photographic event will benefit Wesley Mission and the photographer.
The MyPlace_MyFace photography competition was open to everyone, regardless of age or skill. There were two competition categories -“Homeless Category” and “Housed Category”, with under 18’s and over 18’s sub-categories in each. As the category titles suggest, one was for entries from people who are currently homeless and the other from people who currently have a place to live. The topic of photography was a favourite place or a place of meaning, leaving the possibilities limited only to the own imagination.
