Aussie Aussie Aussie!

29 August 2008

Oy! Oy! Oy! Superintendent/CEO of Wesley Mission Sydney, Rev Keith Garner and his wife, Carol, are new Aussies on the block following their citizenship ceremony on Wednesday, 20 August.

As Keith and Carol Garner made their pledge of commitment as citizens of Australia, they celebrated their third year in Australia in August since coming out from the UK Methodist Church to begin ministry in this country. Keith marveled at how quickly the three years had passed.

“We are grateful indeed for your welcome and willingness to embrace us into the community of Wesley Mission and the wider uniting Church,” Keith said.

“In our work at Wesley Mission, we are building on the foundations of our history and at the same time, we realise that we’re being called to discover meaningful ways in which we can declare the Christian faith in Word and Deed in a context where human need is more varied than ever before.

"Carol and I are thrilled to answer the call of God in this new country of ours. Our roots are going down deep into this earth!”

- Dinoo Kelleghan, Public Affairs Officer
