Milk Crate Theatre is Australia’s only theatre company solely dedicated to the homeless and disadvantaged community. It is an exciting and innovative collaboration between a professional theatre company and inner-city homeless services.

Milk Crate Theatre commenced at Wesley Mission’s Edward Eagar Lodge on the initiative of Ruth Polley, the then Activities Officer. The programme provides opportunity for homeless people to learn and participate in theatre. Many of the activities are conducted at Edward Eagar Lodge.
