Celebrity cricket challenge in Port Macquarie

Recently, country music sensation Felicity Urquhart and former Australian Idol finalist Daniel Mifsud joined local personalities and businesses in padding up for a cause. Wesley Mission’s cricket challenge was held under blue skies with everyone getting into the spirit of the day.

Players from Panthers, Westport Club, Country Energy, Waterwise, Wesley Uniting Employment, 102.3 Star FM and sSs Restaurant joined in all the action. Some of the day’s highlights included State Member for Port Macquarie Peter Besseling up against his Federal counterpart Rob Oakeshott, and the Westport Club playing Panthers Port Macquarie.

On an individual level, it was hard to go past Wesley Uniting Employment’s (WUE’s) own Chris Hathaway. Chris played some wonderful cricket and was the difference between the sides contesting the final. WUE went on to defeat the Waterwise team in a great final.

Overall it was a wonderful day with all teams keen to come back again for another shot in 2010.
