Bicentenary website launched
16 March 2012
Wesley Mission celebrates 200 years since the first Methodists began their pioneering care and faith in NSW and later went on to found the organisation that became Wesley Mission.
Have a look at the new Wesley Mission bicentenary website developed as part of the celebrations:
- listen to audio files - the late Sir Rev Dr Alan Walker’s sermon ‘Christianity at the crossroads’, Carl Lewis talking about his faith at Reachout 2000, or Mary Reay on her work with homeless families
- watch Ivan Reichelt tell his story of the history of Lifeline
- read about the growth of pioneering care year by year in the timeline and in featured stories starting from the first Methodist meeting in Australia in 1812
- share your story of Wesley Mission’s history
The website will change frequently as the celebration continues through to 2015. This marks the 200th anniversary of the arrival in Sydney of the first Methodist Minister, Rev Samuel Leigh.
