More than a bed: Sydney’s homeless speak out

Did you know that 71% of people cite the housing crisis, debt and financial difficulty as the primary reason they are currently homeless?

The plight of the homeless has long been an issue of deep concern for Wesley Mission, particularly in inner Sydney, where the Mission has been caring for people on the street for more than a hundred years.

The high level of homelessness in inner Sydney has driven Wesley Mission to undertake an investigation of the experience of homelessness in Australia’s largest city.

Launched on 6th July, our fourth Wesley Report, More than a bed: Sydney’s homeless speak out, examines the causes of homelessness and the reasons why people remain homeless.  We spoke to some of the most marginalised in our community and asked them what would really improve their quality of life and help them overcome homelessness for good.
