Wesley Counselling Services
The loneliness and desperation of people driven to contemplating suicide led Wesley Mission to establish Lifeline in 1963, a 24-hour telephone counselling service staffed by trained volunteers ready to help people at their moment of crisis.
With the rise of credit card-fuelled debt in the 1970s, Creditline Financial counselling was established to help people who found themselves in financial crisis.
Wesley Gambling Counselling Services was developed to provide a holistic approach with which all aspects of problem gambling and its effects (e.g. personal, social, mental, emotional, financial, legal and relational) can be addressed.
Funded by the Macquarie Bank Foundation and the Australian College of Applied Psychology, Lifeline Sydney re-introduced personal counselling.
