Employment Services

Wesley Mission’s Employment Services (WUE) operate from 59 locations in Sydney, major regional centres and smaller communities across NSW, assisting people to identify the vocational path that allows them to use the skills and experiences that God has given them. Employing 470 staff, this year we placed more than 15,000 people into employment, education and training. With our help, many have overcome severe and multiple barriers to work and enjoy meaningful participation in their local community.

Within our Employment Services we offer the following:

  • Job Network – offers services from 28 sites across New South Wales and South East Queensland.  Through Job Network, WUE provides a range of services for eligible jobseekers to place them into employment.
  • JPET (Job Placement, Employment and Training) - is a free, flexible and individual program which helps young people aged 15 to 21 that are homeless or might become homeless and/or are facing many personal and social difficulties.
  • Personal Support Program is a Commonwealth Government initiative designed to help people with barriers to employment, reach their individual goals matching their disabilities, capabilities and circumstances.  The Personal Support Program provided through Wesley Mission’s Employment Services, strives to assist all participants to achieve a better way of life with respect, dignity and compassion.
  • Work for the Dole offers participants the opportunity to gain vocationally relevant skills across a diverse range of occupation groups. A broad range of activities are available, based upon the skills needs of the local labour market.
  • Disability Employment is targeted at job seekers with disabilities that are permanent, or likely to be permanent, and need ongoing support to gain and maintain employment.
  • Youth Pathways is designed to assist young people at risk of leaving school to make a successful transition through to year 12 (or equivalent) and ultimately to further education, training or employment.
  • Indigenous Youth Employment Centre enhances education, training and employment outcomes for disengaged Indigenous young people aged between 15 and 19 years.
