Community Housing

Ashfield Independent Living Program
- Medium term accommodation for young people, 16 to 22 years, who are unable to reside at home and motivated to live independently.

Handy Persons Maintenance Program
- Aims to employ handy people for the minor maintenance of specific DOH properties
- 5 DOH Sites are located in the Newcastle, Central Coast and in Miller area
- Handy Persons Program also has a contract with Pacific Link Community Housing to provide minor maintenance to their Office of Community Housing properties
- Handy Persons Programs also provide additional maintenance support to other Wesley Mission programs

Newcastle Accommodation and Welfare Services
- Medium term semi-supported accommodation for single men and women and 3 families with the aim of moving clients towards independent living
- The McKenzie Centre offers emergency food and cash relief and various other services
- The Oasis Drop in Centre offers food, clothing, blankets, showers, washing machines and the opportunity to meet with a social worker

Short Term Units
- Supported accommodation for homeless families for 3 months
- Preference given to large families and families with a father or teenage boy

Inner West Case Management Team
- Supports people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to obtain and/or sustain secure housing.
- The team aims to help people break (or prevent) the cycle of homelessness.
