Join our team of Face to Face volunteer counsellors

Lifeline Sydney provides face to face counselling to the general public.  The Face to Face counselling programme also provides opportunities for qualified counsellors, psychologist interns and social workers to gain further counselling experience and develop their skills.

Volunteer counsellors must have professional qualifications in order to meet Lifeline’s high standards.  They include qualifications in psychology or social work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), or other tertiary qualifications gained through an accredited, professionally recognised training facility in counselling or allied health over a minimum period of two years or equivalent.

We provide psychologist interns and counsellors with training in assessment, referral and counselling.  All counsellors are required to attend regular clinical supervision provided by Lifeline.

To find out more about volunteering in Face to Face counselling please call (02) 9951 5560 during business hours.
