Wesley Mission Newcastle
Who are we?
For over 65 years, Wesley Mission Newcastle has been an integral part of the community.
All our activities are grounded in our love for the people we help.
Our origins can be traced back to the vision of four local businessmen who wanted to do something to help local people in need.
Wesley Mission provides support and services for people with a range of complex issues from homelessness, drug and alcohol addiction and childhood abuse to family breakdown, unemployment, disability and social isolation.
Loving innovation inspires our work. As we continue to serve our community, we are always mindful of the things we do to help people, and how we go about achieving our goals. The careful balance of word and deed is central to Wesley Mission. Our care and compassion is directed to the whole person: physical, spiritual, emotional, mental and social. Our eyes are open to the complexity of human need and our mission is one that warms a heart, cleanses a soul and reaches out to lend a hand.
We are not bound by the ways of the past. We welcome new, exciting, innovative ways of reaching people, and have created a space where new ideas are encouraged. However, we do not embrace innovation just to be different. All our activities are grounded in our love for the people we help.
Our vision, mission and values
‘Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.’
Honouring God, serving people, building hope
Out of Christian love and compassion we are driven by:
- Christlike servanthood
- unfailing integrity
- courageous commitment.
