Wesley Training

Wesley Newcastle City Mission Training runs accredited and non-accredited training programs for people who are seeking to re-enter the workforce. We also offer training for those who are already in the workforce but need on-going training in order to keep their jobs.

Our trainers are selected on the basis of their ability to work with clients who have not actively participated in the workforce for some time.

 We have helped more than 865 jobseekers – 249 jobseekers have gained employment and another 27 have entered into full-time study.

Our qualified trainers each have more than 20 years’ training experience, and are skilled at helping people overcome communication and self-confidence barriers. Our trainers are selected on the basis of their ability to work with clients who have not actively participated in the workforce for some time.

Wesley NCM Training provides training in a number of areas to meet the needs of community and business alike. Participants can choose a number of different training courses, depending on the needs of candidates and employers.

We are self-funding, and all income is re-invested back into the community through our community service programs.

Who do we service:

• we offer training to the business community, community-based organisations, the Job Network service, banks and building societies
  
• we work with rehabilitation companies, helping people with work injuries return to the workforce
  
• we can provide training on-site or from our own premises

We offer accredited training in:

• Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) construction induction for all WFD participants (1-day program)
  
• Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) general induction (half-day program)
  
• traffic controllers (1-day program)
  
• intermediate first-aid certificate (previously senior first-aid 2-day program)
  
• intermediate first-aid certificate upgrade (1-day program)

We offer non-accredited training in:

• computer-based training in Microsoft Office, including basic Word, Excel, email and internet use (1-day or 2-day programs available)
  
• job-search techniques (1-day or 2-day programs available)
  
• career voyage – 2.5-hour self-paced computer career assessment program
  
• customer service training – general or industry-specific training available (1-day program)
