Fundraising Officer - Acquisition

Communications and Fundraising

Wesley Mission is a high profile, multi-faceted charitable organisation making a real difference in the community with a holistic approach to problems and needs. The Fundraising department of Communications and Fundraising plays a vital role in ensuring the organisation has the necessary finance to cope with the demands it faces in the community.
We are seeking an Acquisition officer to join our Fundraising team. This direct marketing role is vital to the team. New donors have to be are acquired to ensure a sustainable fundraising income for Wesley Mission.

This role is responsible for all areas of donor acquisition from a busy timetable of direct mail acquisition to managing the face to face fundraising program   An important part of this role will be testing new channels for acquiring donors.


Essential skills/knowledge:

  • 3+ years experience with demonstrable results in a fundraising, direct marketing, online marketing or related discipline
  • Design and implementation of donor acquisition campaigns
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to work with suppliers such as mailhouses
  • Proven experience to grow revenue 
  • Excellent  verbal and written communication skills 
  • Demonstrated accuracy and thorough attention to detail 
  • Excellent time management, multi tasking and follow up skills
  • Computer competence, especially using databases, Microsoft Office Word and Excel 
  • Data analysis and Database experience
  • Budget  management experience
  • Ability to work as part of a team but also autonomously as required

Desirable Skills/knowledge

  • ADMA certificate in Direct Marketing
  • Understanding of multi-channel marketing

Casual Recreational Activities Officer

Wesley Mission is a Christian based organisation working with the most disadvantaged in our community by providing over 200 services ranging from aged care, homeless services, child and family care, counselling, employment, training and education health services.

Through witness, hard work and with the help of supporters we can make positive change in the lives of our clients. We currently are seeking an experienced, motivated and caring Recreational Activities Officer for our 74 bed ageing in place facility which is based in Narrabeen. 

Suitable applicants will have:

  • Certificate IV in Lifestyle & Leisure or similar qualification
  • Senior First Aid Certificate  
  • Previous aged care experience in a similar role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, implementing and evaluating resident activity programs
  • Assessing and reviewing residents social, emotional and spiritual interests and needs 
  • Promoting residents’ sense of wellbeing

Registered Nurse

RE Tebbutt Lodge

We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our 68 bed ageing in place facility based in Dundas.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, implementing and evaluating resident care in accordance with the Centre’s policies and protocols
  • Assessing and reviewing residents’ care needs and maintaining clinical documentation 
  • Promoting residents’ sense of wellbeing
  • Monitoring and supervising the delivery of care to the residents
  • Liaising with and maintaining relationships with Visiting Medical Professionals, other Allied Health Professionals, residents, relatives, visitors and significant others in regard to resident care.


Suitable applicants will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Excellent written verbal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Sound planning and time management skills

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience in aged care

Wesley Mission property assets are used to provide direct services to the community and/or to house office and administrative functions, which support direct service provision. Located at Carlingford, the Corporate Property team is responsible for managing Wesley Mission’s property assets. This position plays a key role in this important Wesley Mission support service.

Working within the busy Corporate Property department, this position provides a project management function for a broad range of property projects ranging from small maintenance, to new building projects.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven Project Management experience and preferably hold relevant tertiary qualification in building design, building construction management, project management or similar area
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing property development activities along with staff supervision
  • Demonstrated skills in planning and organizing projects
  • Demonstrated the ability to work on multiple projects of at one time ensuring that all projects are progressing simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills, especially as they relate to internal management, consultants and contractors
  • Be computer literate, including the use of Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and Project

Assistant in Nursing

Wesley Hospital Ashfield is a 38 bed mental health facility located in Milton Street Ashfield, offering an extensive range of inpatient and day patient services. We have an excellent opportunity for an Assistant in Nursing passionate about making a difference in the mental health field.

The shifts will be based in our Eating Disorder ward where the Assistant in Nursing will monitor patients overnight. Our Night duty shifts are 8 hours from 10pm – 6:30am. Applicants are expected to keep up to date with patient files, complete regular patient checks and counsel patients who are in need of support during their stay in hospital. 

To apply for this role you must possess:

  • Ability to work with multi-disciplinary team
  • Good interpersonal, oral and written communication
  • Vaccination Card
  • Experience in a Mental Health environment 
  • Proven counselling experience

Desirable criteria

  • Experience in night duty shift work

Successful applicants will be given training in regards to how the ward runs and the importance of the role of the Assistant in Nursing in the Eating Disorder Ward.

Assistant in Nursing/Driver

Wesley Hospital Ashfield is a 38 bed mental health facility located in Milton Street Ashfield, offering an extensive range of inpatient and day patient services.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Assistant in Nursing passionate about making a difference in the mental health field.

We are looking for an Assistant in Nursing who will drive patients to Electroconvulsive therapy ECT at our sister hospital at Wesley Hospital Kogarah. Once there, the Assistant in Nursing will help out with monitor patients by completing observations and making beds.

Shifts will have varied start times from 5:30am to 6:30am and finish once patients have returned to Wesley Hospital Ashfield. Shifts are approximately 4-6 hours in duration.

Successful applicants will be provided with Driver Skills and Driver Safety training. There will also be training provided in what is expected of an Assistant in Nursing.

  • A full licence to drive in NSW with no restrictions
  • Ability to work with multi-disciplinary team
  • Good interpersonal, oral and written communication
  • Vaccination Card
  • Experience in a Mental Health environment
  • Experience with driving
  • Experience  working as an Assistant in Nursing
