Care Services

Elizabeth Orr, Care Services General Manager

This year Care Services was marked by high energy activities created through change and growth. Managers have successfully reviewed current services and tendered for new ones. This has enabled even more residents within our Australian community who are elderly, clinically depressed or in other ways emotionally at risk, to receive much needed personalised care.

We thank God for His constant loyalty to us in supporting our many staff and volunteers to give outstanding support and love to our vulnerable clients and their carers.

Counselling Services

In one year, financial counselling sessions have increased 200%The loneliness and desperation of people driven to contemplating suicide led Wesley Mission to establish Lifeline in 1963, a 24-hour telephone counselling service staffed by trained volunteers ready to help people at their moment of crisis.

With the rise of credit card-fuelled debt in the 1970s, Creditline Financial counselling was established to help people who had found themselves in financial crisis.

Wesley Gambling Counselling Services was developed to provide a holistic approach with which all aspects of problem gambling and its effects (e.g. personal, social, mental, emotional, financial, legal and relational) can be addressed.

Funded by the Macquarie Bank Foundation and the Australian College of Applied Psychology, Lifeline Sydney re-introduced personal counselling.
