Community Services

Wayne Koivu, Community Services General Manager

It has been a privilege to lead a skilled and dedicated team through another exciting year of program development and growth.

Our Community Services come with a unique perspective based on the belief that life change is possible for all when the dignity and value of each person is respected and the potential and strength of the human character is released.

We are very grateful to the various government departments, supporters and donors. Lives are changed and communities are transformed because of caring people who share resources of time, self and money. We thank you all for joining with us in the offering of new hope. Together we continue to make a difference.

Wesley Homeless Persons Services

Wesley Mission has served homeless people in Sydney since 1812.

True to Christian philosophy, resources are used on the basis of priority of need regardless of gender, race, colour or creed.

All persons are encouraged to reach their potential and to develop skills to enable them to live as independently as possible in the community.A variety of services are provided from immediate shelter and food, through to longer-term case management, based on Personal Futures Plans tailored to each individual’s needs.

Staff develop caring relationships with clients as the foundation upon which all innovative, holistic, quality care and support is given to homeless people.

The Mission commissioned an extensive review of its services to Sydney’s inner city homeless people. The review’s recommendations will re-shape our service delivery in the future.
