  1. Almonds were introduced to diversify planting on the property and overcome the problems of a subterranean water table. This has reduced the property’s water pumping demand from the local Murray river resulting in reduced energy consumption.
  2. 400 acres of citrus trees are irrigated by an open hydroponic irrigation system.
  3. Each home has been designed to incorporate energy efficiency and sustainability features to reduce water and electricity use. These features include through-flow ventilation, natural day-lighting, star-rated appliances and rood, ceiling and wall insulation. This will translate into lower energy and water bills for home buyers as well as a more comfortable home that is warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
  4. All effluent is passed through a tri-stage aerobic treatment plant and is used to irrigate the horse paddocks. As well as reducing effluent treating costs this has reduced livestock feed costs by 30%.
  5. Computers refurbished and recycled by Wesley Work-for-the-Dole program are donated to community service organisations.
