    Kids on Swings

    CATCHING FREE-FALLING YOUTH

Operation Hope camps for disadvantaged and at-risk youth provide a mix of unforgettable adrenalin rushesand heart-warming success stories. Confidence building activities at Mangrove Mountain and Vision Valley, both set in NSW bush land, include the dual giant swing on which riders free-fall into a saddle 12 metres up in theair, a flying fox, a nerve-testing rope-walking course,a 10 metre abseil, canoeing and archery. And while their activities fly sky high, the Operation Hope values are firmly grounded. They say ‘I believe in you, I trust you,I know you can handle it, you are listened to, you are cared for, you are important’.

24 HR CARE FOR SOPHIE DELEZIO

Everyone in Sydney knows four year old Sophie’s heartbreaking story, but few would have an insight into the stress and fatigue of her shattered parents as they fought to give her specialist care 24 hours a day, while holding down jobs and looking after her little brother. That’s until a team of Wesley nurses from Noakes Nursing Service stepped in to provide around the clock medical care, getting up six times a night to Sophie, overseeing her diet, washing, cooking, ironing, changing dressings, and helping Sophie with physiotherapy as she recovers from her horrific burns, adjusts tolife and learns to walk again.
