APRIL 18, 2001
THE magic of a Frank Sinatra performance will be brought vividly to life when Tom Burlinson takes to the stage at the Hotel Inter-Continental on April 24 as part of a fund-raiser for Wesley Mission's work with children and families in crisis.
Burlinson will recreate the sights and sounds of Ol' Blue Eyes for more than 200 guests, during a 45 minute show in the hotel's James Cook Ballroom.
Proceeds from the $125-a-head, three-course dinner, and accompanying auction, will benefit Wesley Mission's Dalmar Child and Family Services.
Former Wallaby Captain and current City of Sydney Councillor Nick Farr-Jones will be a special guest on the night, in his new role as the Patron of Wesley Dalmar.
Wesley Mission Ambassador Paula Duncan - who has helped organize the night on behalf of the Hotel Inter-Continental - said it was fitting that Tom Burlinson was offering his award-winning Sinatra show to help families in crisis.
"Tom is a dedicated husband and father and he knows full well the pressures placed upon modern Australian families," she said.
"As a close friend of mine, he has expressed his support for the work carried out by Wesley Dalmar and is looking forward to contributing to what promises to be a great night out."
Businesses which have thrown their support behind the evening, as major sponsors, include Blue Haven Pools, Nightingale Wines and Traveland.
