Dance Movement Therapy (DMT)
Dance Movement Therapy uses dance and movement “…as a process which furthers the emotional, cognitive and physical integration of an individual” (American Dance Therapy Association). It is the primary means to address emotional issues and increase emotional and physical health with a wide variety of clients. Dance movement therapists work in such areas as hospitals, nursing homes, counselling centres, schools and agencies for disabilities.
Wesley Institute offers a Graduate Diploma of Dance Movement Therapy for 2009. It will be housed within the Graduate School of Counselling.
