About the program
Wesley Vision Valley is located in Arcadia and is a well-established and respected Christian campsite, providing outdoor recreation to school aged students and a unique retreat facility for church and community groups. Over the past 12 months we have supported over 20,000 guests through our centre.
Our Urban Expeditions team provide both onsite and offsite activities for all clients. Activities range from high ropes courses, abseiling, canoeing, mountain bike courses, to archery, bush cooking and expedition style programs. Our programs complement our client goals by providing a tailor designed activity program, enabling outcomes to be achieved.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager to lead our outdoor recreation team, ensuring the guest experience is memorable. Ideally the candidate has demonstrated management ability and experience in developing and implementing new programs and understanding the client experience from all aspects of the clients stay.
The successful applicant will form part of Wesley Vision Valley’s leadership team, with the objective to provide safe, functional and appropriate activities to clients, which meet their goals and ensure a positive and problem-free guest-experience. You will support the growth of our work, by ensuring growth targets are realised, service delivery targets are met, and teams are aligned and functioning optimally.
You will lead a team of approximately 25 people, be the culture carrier of our Urban Expeditions team, develop and implement new activities, be responsible for upholding our high standard of compliance and be accountable for staff recruitment, training and induction. You will have a willingness to affirm to Wesley Mission’s vision, mission and values and enthusiastically advocate our Word and deed ministry.
- minimum Cert IV in Outdoor Recreation, with competency in Instruct Abseiling, would suit a PD/H/PE Teacher
- a current TAE qualification and has the ability to conduct staff training
- firm understanding of Workplace Health & Safety
- demonstrated business acumen and business development skills
- proven experience in leadership which empowers your team to succeed and direct team culture
- strong focus on exceptional customer service and client experience
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- skills in Microsoft Office
- current driver’s licence
- First Aid training (Senior or equivalent)
- work experience in the not-for-profit sector
