About the role
Wesley Mission is seeking a Family Coach to join the Wesley Dalmar Family Preservation Team. This position offers challenging and rewarding opportunities to work with children and families across a contracted area from Auburn to Lithgow. Each Family Coach will work intensively with 5-6 identified families in conjunction with the Department of Family & Community Services (FACS). Although based in Dundas Valley, most work is completed in-home using a family-centred practice philosophy and active-learning approaches. The aims of the program are to support the development of parenting skills, enhance parent/child interactions and increase child development, health and safety.
- degree in Social Work, Social Welfare, Psychology or related discipline
- previous experience providing support to children and families
- availability to work flexible hours including some evenings
- current unrestricted driver’s licence
- ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team
- demonstrated ability to write reports to a professional standard
- experience in case management
- current Working with Children Check
- experience in out-of-home care
Salary and conditions of employment are based on the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability (SCHADS) Award 2010, Level 5, with generous salary packaging opportunities + fully maintained vehicle.
