Rev Keith Garner reads one of the most challenging passages in Luke chapter 16; the parable that is variously described by people as the story of the dishonest steward, the shrewd manager or even the prudent treasurer.

It can be easy to be distracted by the difficulty of this parable, but we shouldn’t allow this to divert us from the essential truth that Jesus is communicating. Whenever we read a parable of Jesus, we should remind ourselves that they are not stories of factual truth and need to be put into the right context.
