This week the Rev Dr Rick Dacey explores the questions in the minds of the disciples as they wondered how the hunger of a huge crowd of 4,000 could be satisfied with seven loaves and a few small fish. Only two chapters on from the feeding of the 5,000, we read here that again Christ taught his disciples that he would provide for their needs with every mission He gave them. Jesus responded to the disciples with patience and grace, despite their slowness to remember, learn and trust. As we bring our own needs for ‘daily bread’ before God, we too can be encouraged to trust that no matter how big the temptation to worry might be, God’s provision for us will be enough.
