By Rev Keith Garner

As the Rev Dr Keith Garner continues this series on the Gospel of John, we explore the miracle of the healing at the Pool of Bethesda, and gain insight into the goodness of Jesus’ actions, and the objections the religious leaders of the day harboured against Him. In considering the plight of this man desperate for healing, we are reminded of the importance of the human will in times of trial, and of resisting the temptation to sink into self-pity. While physical healing may not always come when we reach out to God in faith, we can be assured that He will give us a wholeness that will not only bring us comfort in Christ, but also enable us to look to the future with hope.
