Go bush

Bush walking, camping out, and gatherings around the campfire (not forgetting the damper) are all part of the authentic Australian bush experiences. 

Overnight campout

Duration: overnight
Age: Year 3 / 8 years+
Maximum numbers apply: 30 participants

Our overnight campouts are individually designed programs intended to give an exciting experience in the bush and can include adventure activities. Participants will campout in tents and hike to the campground.

This activity must be selected at the time of booking.


Campfire

Duration: 90 minutes

Our main centre campfire circle seats up to 100 people on timber benches around the fire pit. More intimate campfires are also available onsite for smaller groups. Marshmallow roasting, songs and stories are some of the activities enjoyed around the campfire. We will build the fire for you but the supervision and activities are left up to you.


Bush cooking

Duration: 90 minutes
Age: Year 3+ / 8 years+

Bush cooking involves making and eating genuine damper twists (enjoyed with honey or maple syrup) cooked on the hot coals of our safe campfire pit. Please note, in the event of a total fire ban this activity cannot run.


Guided Bush Walk

Duration: 90 minutes
Age: Year 1+ / 6 years+

Guided walks are a great way for your group to experience our bushland setting. We’ll lead your group on an easy bush walk/nature study or on one of our longer, more difficult hikes. Participants see all kinds of native wildlife such as lizards, snakes, and wallabies.


Orienteering—Introductory

Duration: 90 minutes
Age: Year 3+ /8 years+

Participants learn the basics of map reading and keep fit at the same time with our introductory orienteering challenge. Participants must locate markers and clip their score card in the fastest possible time. The course uses maps with numbered markers located around Wesley Vision Valley.

This is a self-guided activity.


Orienteering—Compass

Duration: 90 minutes
Age: Year 5+ /10 years+

Participants learn the basics of map reading and using compasses, and keep fit at the same time with our introductory orienteering challenge. Participants must locate markers and clip their score card in the fastest possible time. The course uses compasses with bearing points to locate the markers around Wesley Vision Valley.

This is a self-guided activity.


Wilderness Challenge

Duration: 90 minutes
Age: Year 5+ /10 years+

Our Wilderness Challenge is a team building activity presenting a series of simulated scenarios. Participants must cross a number of elements to get the whole team to safety. The activity is designed to present a variety of challenges for different ages and abilities.


Self-guided bush walk

Duration: 90 minutes
Age:  no age limit

Bush walks around the Wesley Vision Valley allow the group to truly experience our bushland setting. Participants see all kinds of native wildlife such as lizards, snakes, and wallabies. Complimentary bush walk maps are available.

This is a self-guided activity.


Balsarangs

Duration: 90 minutes
Age: no age limit

Boomerang throwing is one of the world’s oldest sports. Aboriginal people have used boomerangs for fighting, hunting and recreation. The Balsarang is a lightweight boomerang made from crossed pieces of balsa wood, which indigenous children used to make from palm leaves. Our Instructors will help participants make, decorate, and throw their Balsarangs.
