Make a difference this Mental Health Month
This October is Mental Health Month, an opportunity for us to encourage each other to talk and think about our mental health and wellbeing. Did you know that 3 out of 4 Australians have had their mental health affected by COVID-19*?
With COVID-19 increasing distress for many, we’re asking you to help by raising money and awareness for Wesley Mission’s mental health services from 1 to 31 October.
Our LifeLine Sydney and Sutherland service offers telephone crisis support 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the cost of a local call (mobile phone calls are free of charge) and answers more than 40,000 calls each year. With your help, we can keep funding this critical service as well as suicide prevention programs and counselling services.
How to get involved
Move for mental health – take on a virtual run, trek, cycle or walk in a safe space over the month, improving your own wellbeing while you help others needing support.
Hold a ‘Wellness’ virtual morning tea – catch up safely with friends and family to raise funds for people in crisis.
Create your own fundraiser – ask your loved ones to support you with any challenge, whether it’s conquering a 1,000 piece puzzle or completing a patchwork masterpiece during October and share it on social media #LetsTalk2020 and #wesleymission
