We are raising $12 million
Opportunities available at respite centres (youth), in our Lifeskills programs (disability) or aged care/retirement villages.
Our Community Working Bee has been designed to enable an extra pair of hands when it comes to keeping the grounds clean and tidying for our clients residing in our community housing centres. In many cases the transformations of these areas make a real difference to our clients’ outlook on life and circumstances.
The day will start off with a brief welcome to the centre and a chance to learn about what Wesley Mission does to support the needs of the clients your group is visiting.
The group is split into teams to get the work done (e.g. gardening, weeding, painting, cleaning, skip bin duties etc.). In many cases, you will be working and interacting alongside residents, helping to brighten their day.
Group size: 10 – 30
Time commitment: Full day 9.30 am – 3.00 pm
Community impact: Many hands make light work and there are jobs that we need help with to support our clients and residents in our Community Housing Centres. Often the gardening makeovers light up the lives of our clients and residents bringing them great joy and valuable social interactions
What’s required: Please bring gardening gloves, wear covered shoes, a hat and sunscreen. Tools are provided.
Cost: Costs will be quoted when full details and numbers are confirmed.
