Taronga Zoo with you
Brighten someone’s day that needs it most by hosting your own safari at Taronga Zoo.
You don’t need to be as adventurous as Steve Irwin but you will need to make sure everyone, has fun, acts responsibly and agrees on what animals to visit - with over 4,000 this might be your biggest challenge.
Your tour guests will be clients from Wesley Disability Services or residents of Wesley Edward Eagar Lodge, a supported accommodation service in Surry Hills. For your guests, spending time and having fun has fallen down their list of priorities. Instead, they’ve been focused on their day to day lives and, for some, whether they’ll have a place to sleep at night.
It sounds simple but getting up close to animals like giraffes and tigers can have a huge impact on someone’s life, including yours. Not only will your group have the opportunity to connect with the community, they’ll also boost our client’s confidence and social skills helping them feel included in the community.
Group size: Up to 25
Time commitment: Full day 10 am - 3 pm
Community impact: Creates a bright spot in the life of someone who needs it most
What’s required: Your smiles and positive attitude are most important. Your group will also need to cover associated costs. Don’t forget to pack your sunscreen or a jacket in the cooler months.
