Wesley Youth Resilience Challenge
Learn about the wide variety of challenges that youth face, from young children living with single parents, to children in foster care, youth mentoring, children in our respite centres, disabled youth in day care facilities and the needs of children transitioning into high school.
Groups will participate in team activities and ultimately face a fun group challenge of using $10 to purchase special care packs for young people to help them settle better into their new lives or transition to their new circumstances.
The details of each activity will vary according to the scenario and all purchases are donated to Wesley Mission for youth in care.
Being a young person is hard enough but when you have family relationship problems, face financial instability and suffer from mental health issues, circumstances and life become a lot harder.
Providing our youths with school essentials, toiletries, crayons and toys can make a difference to their life’s challenges.
Group size: 30
Time commitment: Half day 10am – 1pm or 2 – 5.00 pm
Community impact: Bring a smile to the faces of children of all ages, help extend their education and remind them that there are people out there who care.
What’s required: If you’re looking to learn more about children and youths we’ll need your attention otherwise just your willingness to accept a challenge. Our corporate volunteers also cover associated costs.
