Wesley Community Visitors Scheme

We are raising $12 million

The Wesley Community Visitors Scheme is operated by Wesley Mission as part of the Commonwealth Government’s initiative to enhance the well-being of older people living in residential aged care facilities, or who are living in their own home with assistance through a Home Care Package.

Helpful links

Volunteers set aside time to visit a care recipient in an aged care facility or in their own home. Depending on the volunteer and the person they befriend, this time may be spent simply keeping each other company or taking part in any one of a number of activities.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age and over and they have to undertake a police check. There is initial and ongoing training for all volunteers. All volunteers have the support of a dedicated trained team.

The strength of Wesley Community Visitors Scheme is our wonderful volunteers. We are always on the lookout for more volunteers and we would love to hear from anyone interested in becoming a volunteer for the program, either call 1800 052 222 or email communityvisitors@wesleymission.org.au.
