26-30 September 2016
Wesley Urban Mission is a unique five day missions event that will inspire young people to serve their city!
In the September school holidays, high school aged students and Christian youth groups are coming together to play an active part in God’s response to the pain, hardship and struggle right here in Sydney.
From our basecamp at YWAM Island Breeze, they’ll travel to the places most in need and discover what it means to love and live like Christ, putting others first.
For the cost of $285, Wesley Mission will look after all the food, activities, mission materials, travel costs, accommodation and safety, so all your youth group or young person has to do is sign up, show up and serve!
Wesley Urban Mission is for high school aged students and youth groups. We also have a number of supervised teams for those who are not connected with a youth group.

You don’t have to go overseas to get involved in mission work. Wesley Urban Mission is a large-scale, short-term mission exposure experience right in the heart of Sydney. Together with other high school age students and youth groups, your group or young person will share an amazing opportunity to grow in faith and love through serving their neighbours in need.
Youth will learn Christ-like servanthood as they come alongside marginalised children, young people, adults and elderly. They will get to know community workers whose lives are dedicated to serving others in the name of Christ. They’ll develop personal connections with other youth engaged in the mission, with members of their own youth group and with people they’re serving. Above all, they’ll connect with Jesus and His call upon their lives.
$285 per camper (includes a $50 non-refundable deposit to secure your place)
- all meals
- all activities
- accommodation costs
- travel expenses
- supplies and materials for mission work.
This is a great opportunity for youth to raise money to cover their registration fee like they would for other mission trips, except this time they'll get to make a change and see its impact in their own city!
Why should your youth group or young person come to Wesley Urban Mission?
It’s about the mission of God. Wesley Urban Mission is an interdenominational mission project. Our focus is not on denominational differences, but on the call that unites us as the body of Christ. Everything we do together— working and playing, worshipping and learning—is intended as a springboard for the ongoing growth of youth in and through their own local church. We want to see a passion for whole-of-life, everyday mission ignited among a new generation of disciples.
It’s run by Wesley Mission. From the time you arrive, we’ll look after the planning, logistics and details so that youth leaders can simply focus on their kids. We have years of experience running high quality youth activities and we’ve earned the trust of the wider community through professional services and Christian care, supporting people of all ages with a range of areas of need.
It’s catered. You don’t have to worry about breakfast, lunch or dinner – we’ll provide it all!
It’s community. Your youth group will stay together for four nights. We have some big, fun activities and engaging experiences planned for each day spent in our city. We’ve also built in important time for youth leaders to build relationships between their own group as well.
It’s safe. Our experienced staff will provide a safe environment for kids to have a great time. We’ll take care of all the work, health and safety requirements so you and your group/young person can relax and enjoy serving your city. Youth leaders will come along and serve with their group (one leader for every 7 kids), so you can know your youth group is in good hands.
It’s fun. We’ve packed our program with creative, hands-on activities so your youth group/young person will have an awesome time!
It’s fulfilling. Your youth group/young person will have amazing opportunities to serve and see God at work in a real urban mission environment. They’ll encounter what it means to love and live like Christ in and amongst possibly a new side of the world they have not yet seen. It is our hope that through this they’ll not only walk away more appreciative of what they have, but walk away with a new ‘mission’ outlook in life that may inspire and direct them toward what God has for their lives.
We do all the planning – you and your youth group/young person just need to sign up, show up and serve!
