Home Care Sector Support and Training

Home Care Sector Support and Training assists organisations who deliver services under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) in the New South Wales (NSW) Central Coast and Hunter Valley regions. We work with service providers and industry stakeholders to build sustainability and staff capability, and to ensure the aged care sector in these regions has the capacity to meet the current and emerging needs of our shared community.

What is the CHSP?

The CHSP supports older people who need entry-level care and help with daily tasks to stay in their own homes longer. It was introduced on 1 July 2015, to streamline four existing aged care programs:

  • Commonwealth Home and Community Care Program
  • National Respite for Carers Program
  • Day Therapy Centres Program
  • Assistance with Care and Housing for the Aged Program.
