National Disability Services
National Disability Services (NDS) is a member based body for non-government disability service organisations. Their purpose is to promote quality service provision and life opportunities for Australians with disability which is achieved by influencing governments at all levels and providing members with information and advice, networking opportunities and business support. The 910 NDS members operate several thousand services for Australians with all types of disability. Members range in size from small support groups to large multi-service organisations.
Australian Government Department of Social Services
The mission of Australian Government Department of Social Services is to improve the lifetime wellbeing of people and families in Australia. Their website provides access to policy papers, news, events, videos and information regarding the available services.
Australian Disability Enterprises
Supported by funding from the Australian Government Department of Social Services, Australian Disability Enterprises are commercial businesses that provide real work opportunities for more than 20,000 people with disability across Australia. The organisation operates over 300 outlets Australia wide across a wide range of industries from graphic design, printing and metal fabrication through to packaging, recycling and landscaping.
National Disability Insurance Scheme
NDIS is the National Disability Insurance Scheme, a new way of providing community linking and individualised support for people with permanent and significant disability, their families and carers.
Disability Service Standards
The Disability Service Standards are provided by the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs.
