Wesley Social Support has evolved out of Wesley Mission’s aged care services. The service was first offered as part of a broader range of help at home services in 2005. These services began out of a recognition that many of the older people Wesley Mission was in contact with were not ready to enter an aged care facility and, with a little bit of help with everyday tasks, would be able to remain independent in their own homes.
Today Wesley Social Support is part of a suite of services Wesley Mission offers to people who would like to remain independent in their own homes. These services can be accessed directly through Wesley Mission or through Australian Government programs such as Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) or Home Care Packages, a coordinated set of service packages tailored to meet an individual’s specific needs.
