Welcome to Wesley Youth Mentoring

Origins

Wesley Youth Mentoring was established in 2004 as an extension to existing services that Wesley Mission offered to young people. The program began in Port Macquarie and Batemans Bay. Wesley Youth Mentoring was originally funded as a pilot project for two years by Sydney Rotary. In its original conception, Wesley Youth Mentoring was developed initially as a part of Wesley StreetSmart, a youth outreach service designed to connect with young people in their own neighbourhoods. Youth mentoring was just one component of a larger idea that also incorporated street outreach, intensive case management, training and outdoor education.
